  • Condition: Used, original equipment tympan bales, set of two. These are for a Golding Jobber #6 (8 x 12) letterpress press. Bales in good clean condition. One is perfect condition the other has a slight bow in the bar, could be repaired resized when installing on press. I did not want to try refit the bow without sizing on a similar press. Excellent replacement for a damaged tympan bale.

    Offered: A pair (2), 8 x 12 Golding & Company Jobber #6 original equipment Tympan bales.
    Both bales are in good usable condition. This pair of bales came off the same press. If you have a press that had the bales damaged due to a press closing on them at an inopportune time. If you have an extensively damaged tympan bale, you'll soon realize it is a difficult proposition to repair them and make them right again. One bale is straight and true the other has a slight bow, which you should be able straightened when outfitting to your press. If you only need one bale, you'll have a back-up. This is a hard-to-find replacement part for a Golding press. I downsized my shop and no longer own a Golding

    The following
    dimensions are provided so that you can confirm this fits your press. Length is 13 1/4" by 2 13/16" this portion has a one-quarter inch hole drilled so that it can be attached to platen on right and left side of press.
    Steel stock this is made of is 3/16" thick 7/16" wide.
