    Description

POSTWAR  LIONEL 224 DIE CAST STEAM LOCOMOTIVE & 2466W WHISTLE TENDER
    LOT DESCRIPTION:
As the title says this lot consists of a Postwar Lionel 224, 2-6-2, Die Cast Steam Locomotive with  the correct matching 2466W whistle tender  that was made in the late 1940s.   The locomotive has the Baldwin Disc Wheels,  a operating headlight, full compliment of drive rods and a three position e-unit and the tender has  a automatic coil couple, full compliment of railings  and operating whistle. Both pieces are all original Pre War Lionel.
    DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION:
The locomotive and tender are both in great shape. The loco casting is perfect, no breaks, cracks or chips. Both classification lights (often broken off) are fine.  Front cowcatcher steps a little worn on the endges. No rust or missing parts, great color, numbers nice and clear. The tender too looks fine, no cracks, breaks or chips on the shell, lettering crisp and clear.  No real issues here at all. Again, a great looking set that IMHO I would rate as in C-7, excellent condition but look at the pictures and you be the judge for the pictures are an important part of the description and say more than my words ever can..
    WORKING CONDITION:
I have cleaned lubed and tested the locomotive and it runs and reverses just fine , e-unit too cycles fine. The whistle on the tender  works  as does the coupler.
    COMMENTS & QUESTIONS:
If there is a problem, regardless of type, e-mail me and I will try and resolve it with you. I am both a TCA Member and LCCA Member and I do my best to describe each item accurately and my feedback indicates I usually succeed. I usually leave feedback once every 7 to 10 days and only after I have received feedback. You will ALWAYS be bidding on the actual item shown in my pictures. LOOK AT THE PICTURES, READ THE DESCRIPTIONS. You are NOT bidding on what you think the item should be or what you would like it to be you are bidding on exactly what you see in the pictures. Leaving negative feedbacks without first trying to resolve the issue is not to neither of our benefits.
Again, take a good look at all the pictures (they describe the lot better than my words can) to see exactly what you are bidding on and judge the condition of the item for yourself. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions on this item especially as it relates to it’s condition. Ask now, not after you have won the item!
As is the case for almost all my auctions this lot is offered to you WITH NO RESERVE!
